Raftelis Average Savings Report
American Water Works Association, Denver, Colorado and Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc., Charlotte, North Carolina, produced the 2006 Water and Wastewater Rate Survey. This survey is compiled and published every two years. Many water companies utilize the data found in this report to assist in setting their own water and wastewater rates.
The AQUS® preserves scare natural resources and saves owner’s money by reusing the water from the lavatory sink to flush the toilet. Therefore, reducing the amount of fresh water normally used and the cost of that fresh water. Additionally, the AQUS® saves the owner’s money for the disposal of wastewater at the lavatory sink.
Based upon our review of the fresh water and wastewater charges of numerous cities and counties from the 2006 Water and Wastewater Rate Survey, we have calculated that the average combined charge is approximately $7.00 per 1,000 gallons of fresh and wastewater.
Our system is expected to save between 9 and 14 gallons of fresh water per day for two person bathrooms with normal activities. The following represents several scenarios for the economic impact of the AQUS®.
